In year 2008 Hong Kong government facilitated great changes in educa-tion policy in order to interface with the Pre-primary Education Voucher Scheme which was launched by Hong Kong government to subsidize Kin-dergarten’s school fee. Such scheme helps to alleviate the burden of families with preschool aged children and enhance the qualifications and quality of preschool teachers. All teachers are required to attend in-service training courses and attain Certificate in Early Childhood Educa-tion Courses (2 years or above). Elementi therefore received the support from all members of school council, having them making the vital deci-sion of converting from a private independent school to a non-profit making school sponsoring body. Whether within financial operation, administrative structure, personnel arrangement or service indicator, there were huge reforms and in faith we keep moving forward. Within the decade from 2008 to 2018, we were grateful to all co-workers, the curriculum was integrated with our concerted efforts. Besides, the Rain-bow Parent Volunteer Team was established; meanwhile we hosted vari-ous diversified family activities through partnership with parents. The life education curriculum was fully implemented; it adopted the life educa-tion programme of “7 seeds” and Bible subject “Seed of Life” to host various activities which nurture the spiritual growth of children. The school also launched the “School with Good Characters Programme” which aimed to foster children’s good characters and help them to de-velop positive values, directions and lifestyles, in order to become proac-tive and cheerful kids. In the meantime, we received recognition from the Education Bureau and the industry; we also passed two separate quality reviews and received compliments as well as positive reviews in all school reports. From beginning till now, we are indeed proud of the big family of Elementi.
100% Preschool teachers of Elementi Educaiton Organization must have possessed Certificate in Kindergarten Education (CE) or ECE degree or above professional qualifications. Besides, preschool teachers should have suitable experience and acquire second language. Teachers should be amiable, loving and patient with children. They should be child-centered and be passionate with education. All expatriate English teachers instruct in English and with years of “English Activity Approach” experience, they also possess the Montessori Education Certificate qualification.
In 2019, the beginning of another decade, we actively practice front-line education and training, and work together to achieve the goal of sustain-able development and quality of education. In this year, the school began to implement four major concerns in the school development plan:
- Full implementation of Orff Approach of music education, in order to inspire children’s potentials and foster children’s all-round devel-opment.

- Practice healthy families start with schools, while helping parents and children to build positive life attitudes.
- Pay attention to the special education needs of young children. En-hance the support to children with special needs and provide more assistance to their parents.

Life education is to inspire life’s wisdom, internalize life values and learn to make reflections. In addition, to grow from positive life experience, build up good characters and conducts since a very young age. To en-courage growth through life education, the monthly theme of “7 Seeds” is set as the blueprint, creating character month and utilizing bible sto-ries to link up courses of various themes. Upholding the learning cultures of “acceptance”, “encouragement” and “commendation”, combining biliterate and trilingual together with six learning fields, in order to meet the interests and needs of children. Through project learning, group learning and game activities, our “School with Good Characters Pro-gramme” is being enhanced which foster children’s thoughts and behav-iours as well as their sense of values. Our mediums of instruction include both Chinese and English, having both languages share the same im-portance. English activities are hosted by expatriate English teachers and they train children’s listening, speaking, reading, thinking and writing abilities, enabling children to grasp the capabilities of English usage. Last but not least, Mandarin is being set as third language of instruction and comprising seeds of life religious activities; having all these being taught by teachers with professional qualifications and conducted in activity approach.
Through“School with Good Characters Programme”, we nurture children to carry out continuous self-improvement, to be filled with confidence and enable them to build up good wellness. We want children to learn how to respect and care for others, while loving themselves, loving their families as well as loving the society. From the context of daily life, we want children to value virtues and become environmentally friendly. Having children becoming proactive and with good characters; we suc-ceed in achieving the goal of having whole-person education begins with young children.

Montessori Learning Environment allows children to learn according to their developmental stage. Through interaction to enhance children’s exploratory power, memory skills and social ability. Besides, it aims to help children build up self-confidence, discipline and attain good emo-tional learning. It upgrades the quality of life comprehensively, includes domains like knowledge, skills, attitudes and creativity. Not only can it meet the overall goal of teaching, but also provide an effective learning method.
Through music education, children are enabled to develop happiness, self-confidence, imagination, creativity and expressiveness. It opens up full body, whole-hearted and whole-brain activities to lead children to experience literary, life, cultural, creative lifestyles and aesthetics. In the process of learning, children undergo "attempts" and "deeds" while receiving music education. It inspires children's multiple intelligences through body percussion, dialogue, rhythm, singing, dance and instru-mental ensemble. The 2-6 year-old curriculum provides the direction for the design, imple-mentation, and evaluation of the overall spiraling curriculum. Develop goals at different levels, and child developmental goals are tailored to the child's developmental abilities or characteristics.
Cultivate curiosity, be willing to try new things, learn to listen and encourage response; also start living in groups, share with others, share items, learn basic life knowledge as well as skills and know there are different solutions to a problem.
